The ShadowLands commends Michael Pascoe for this article which argues Australians are spoilt and need to harden up. All of which reminds us (careful, frightful language!) of this.

It's something to see that this could be published in the generally rancid Fairfax press. But it was the SMH, not The Age. Such sentiments will have a hard time surfacing from the factional swamp that is the ABC, although they will smile about rich kids not being able to afford the trendy inner suburbs. That is a right of ABC presenters, whose pay levels present no such problem, but rather weaken the constant cries of under-resourcing.
The last election, tonight's news assured me, was all about evil AWAs. Yeah, right.
