Dear Kevin

It is now two weeks since I wrote to Kevin Rudd and in the meantime he has repeated his claim that Australia is the hottest and driest continent, so today I am sending a friendly reminder.

Dear Sir

I appreciate you are a very busy man, but apart from acknowledgement of receipt, I have not yet had a response to my letter that was sent to you two weeks ago. The question I am seeking to be answered is: what is the source of your information that Australia is the hottest and driest continent in the world?

Yours sincerely...

MM, I think it's from the FHM guide you know what bikinni is too hot and what bikinni is too cold.

Guys love global warming. 1.6 Posted Tizona.

MM, Dr Dennis Jensen from Tangney (WA) is about the smartest skeptic I can think of in Parliament. He also responds to emails, even from people not in his constituency. Perhaps while you're waiting for Kevin to gather 1002 of our Dimmest & Shallowest into a committee to "look into" your question, you could ask Dr Jensen?

See a shortened version of a speech he made to Parliament about AGW alarmism here; his email addy is here.

Lots of "fake but accurate" factoids get circulated and recirculated when it comes to AGW alarmism - for instance Perth is often made out to be some kind of desert climate, but we get more rainfall than Melbourne. Also, the oft-repeated "fact" (one of Kevin's & our premier Carpenter's favs) that turning off your appliances at the wall can save 10% of your power has been comprehensively debunked.

Anyhow, good luck with your question - and thanks to 1.6 for letting us over at Tiz's know about it!

Well, it can't be Antarctica. Saharan Africa would beat Australia, but sub-saharan Africa is a tropical rain forrest that goes on nearly forever. If you take entire continents into consideration, I'm pretty sure Australia gets the hottest and driest award.

So, you're all going to die, of course.

Thanks for dropping over, chaps. My argument is that he is wrong, (http://margosmaid.blogspot.com/2008/07/australia-not-so-hot.html)

A fine suggestion Spot the Dog - I may just drop the Senator a line.

Yeah, well. The main reason I stopped by was I'd heard you all had a kickin' Sunday Session over here, open bar & all that... But all I could find was this somewhat stale plate of cucumber sandwiches & a pot of tea made with tea-bags, over in the corner? What kinda joint is this anyway?

Sigh...I was afraid someone might notice those are the same cucumber sandwiches from last week.

Geeze Margos,

Here I am, spruikin' your site to all and sundry, callin' ya the best blog in Oz and all kinds of things, and you're serving last week's cucumber sandwiches?!

Are you trying to kill my rep and street cred or somethin'?!
