is the anniversary of the 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, presumptive heir to the Austro-Hungarian thrown.
After being shot in the neck, the Archduke's repeated last words were, "Es ist nichts" or "it is nothing", which turned out to be a bit of an under-estimation of the overall seriousness of this event.
Little known Franz Ferdinand trivia - the Archduke was Elvis's great uncle. Don't believe me? Check the remarkable family resemblance.

As seen you can see in this photo (taken about 30 minutes before his assassination) Franz Ferdinand had some awesome hats. It may look to some as a little poofy but a real man can carry it off. Ah, the age when people really cared and put effort into having a stylish variety of head coverings (like the variety of pointy German helmets or Austrian lancer helmet (I suspect lancers needed the incentive of a cool helmet in the age of machine guns)).
If we assume Elvis faked his death we can perhaps use his resemblance to the Hapsburgs to model what an old elvis would look like : sideburns gone wild
margos'
somehow I have the feeling, that you meant "throne" not "thrown"
Sorry to be pedantic.

Cheers
dammit, I hope this doesn't affect my cred with the serious historians.
