Barbarians don't always win on September 11. On this date in 1945, the Australian 9th Division (with more than a little help from decisive action in Hiroshima and Nagasaki) liberated 2000
people from the the Batu Lintang internment camp in Borneo. The prisoners were freed with only four days to spare before the Japanese planned to bayonet those who were too weak to leave the camp, poison the women and children, shoot the men, and burn all the evidence.
