Don Adams

Don "Maxwell Smart" Adams died on 25 September 2005. The son of a Jewish Hungarian father and an Irish-Dutch Catholic mother, he served as a marine during WWII, being wounded and barely surviving a case of malaria at Guadalcanal.

Embarking on an acting career, he changed his surname from Yarmi to Adams, because he hated waiting until last during auditions conducted in alphabetical order. Here's a trivia quiz, (I got 7) and a youtube reminder.
